Instruction by a Professional Coach

Andrew Murray is a full time HPA-accredited polo coach with 30 years’ experience under his belt, and expertise in all aspects of polo. His career highlights include co-managing and managing high-goal teams in the UK and Europe.

Andrew has worked for the Royal families of Jordan and Brunei in both an advisory and managerial capacity, and trained and piloted horses for top professionals, such as Memo Gracida 10 and Howard Hipwood 9.

He brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of teaching – from one-on-one beginners’ lessons, to proficient amateurs and teams.

Today, he is a freelance coach working with Ryan Pemble (HPA-accredited swing coach) teaching at The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club, which is known as the UK’s home arena of polo. He also teaches at Wellington College.

Introduction to Polo

Players can be sure to learn the most crucial mallet swings using both foot mallets and our wooden horse before learning how to ride for polo. At the end of the lesson, players will put into practice what they have learnt by playing a mini chukka together on the beautiful grounds.

Individual Lessons

Individual lessons are one-to-one sessions that are tailored to each individual client, offering time to focus on specific aspects of one’s game. The HPA-accredited instructor will ensure to cater to each client’s abilities in order to provide a worthwhile and fun experience.

Group Lessons

Group Lessons are a great way to get a real feel for being out on the polo field. It encourages players to works as a team and get into the competitive spirit of the game.

Instructional Chukkas

Instructional Chukkas are one-hour sessions with an HPA-accredited instructor, offering a controlled environment to focus on tactics and rules.
